Mike Tomlin confirmed at the start of training camp that the Pittsburgh Steelers will not be able to count on Isaac Seumalo. The offensive lineman is one of the key players for Aaron Rodgers to succeed next season.
“Everyone is present and accounted for. We have one NFI (non-football injury). Isaac Seumalo. He got a soft tissue injury that could slow him at the early portions of this, but, other than that, all present and accounted for ready to work.”
Despite the arrival of big names like DK Metcalf, Jalen Ramsey, and Darius Slay, the offensive line could be the key factor in the Steelers and their Super Bowl hopes. Seumalo is a player they can’t afford to lose if they want to support young talents like Zach Frazier and Mason McCormick.
Who is injured for the Steelers?
Isaac Seumalo is the only injured player for the Pittsburgh Steelers at the start of training camp. According to Mike Tomlin, so far there have been no other absences after the team’s first practices.
Additionally, a report from Gerry Dulac has confirmed that Seumalo’s soft tissue injury is not serious, so he could return to practice in the coming weeks and his availability for the opener against the New York Jets is not in doubt.
