Mike Tomlin confirmed that four of his stars will not play against the Carolina Panthers in the final preseason game for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Among those names is Aaron Rodgers.
âAs far as playtime, thereâs really four guys that Iâm not considering playing. Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt, Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf. Everyone else is under consideration. Theyâre preparing as if theyâre going to play. All healthy outside of the four that I mentioned are preparing and scheduled to play.â
Tomlinâs decision has sparked major controversy since Rodgers is 41 years old and hasnât taken a single snap with the Steelers in a new offensive scheme led by Arthur Smith. In addition, he hasnât had playing time with teammates like DK Metcalf or Jonnu Smith to improve synchronization on routes and other aspects of the game.
