Jalen Hurts finally got over the hump last year, leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a memorable victory in Super Bowl LIX over then two-time defending champions Kansas City Chiefs. Now, the goal is to get back to the promised land in the 2025 NFL season.
And while many contributors left the Eagles to get paid elsewhere this offseason, the team will also welcome back familiar faces not only from last year, but also from previous campaigns.
On Thursday, Jeff McLane of the Inquirer reported that the Eagles are reuniting with Matt Pryor, handing the free agent offensive lineman a one-year deal. Even though itâs been years since they last worked together, Hurts knows Pryor very well.
Pryor reunites with Hurts on the Eagles
The TCU product, who was selected in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Eagles, was still in Philadelphia when the team drafted Hurts in 2020. The quarterbackâs rookie year turned out to be Pryorâs final season in the City of Brotherly Love before coming back for a second stint in 2025.

Matt Pryor #69 of the Indianapolis Colts walks off the field prior to a preseason game against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium on August 13, 2022 in Orchard Park, New York.
Pryor now returns to Philadelphia as a veteran tackle with 40 starts in 93 appearances (including playoffs) under his belt, having spent time with the Indianapolis Colts (2021-22), San Francisco 49ers (2023-24) and Chicago Bears (2024) in the NFL.

Jalen Hurtsâ net worth: How rich is the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback?
In Pryor, the Eagles get a versatile player who can protect Hurts from different positions. While most of his snaps came as right guard (1,570), he also played several reps as right tackle (718), left tackle (427), and left guard (107). Will this move help the team repeat their Super Bowl title? Weâll have to wait and see.
