NFL News: Shedeur Sanders sends clear message to Mike Tomlin, trying to convince Steelers to draft him as their starting quarterback

Shedeur Sanders is ignoring the rumors suggesting he will drop dramatically in the first round and, in an ESPN story which recovered his NFS interview, he sent a clear message to teams interested in drafting him, such as the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“Why should an NFL team take a chance on me? Because I know I’m the most guaranteed risk you can take. I know I’ve done it, so I know what it looks like, back-to-back, over and over. I’ve been in situations where I know I had to change my playing style to adapt. I had six different offensive coordinators, I’m able to adapt to each one, and the production always went up. It never went down.”

In recent days, amid the uncertainty surrounding Aaron Rodgers, the Steelers have been leaning toward selecting a quarterback in the first round. Among those prospects is Deion Sanders’ son.

The big problem is that no one knows if Shedeur will fall to the No. 21 spot. In that scenario, if the Steelers are truly interested in drafting him, they would have to trade up. However, they don’t have a second-round pick as draft capital, since they gave it up to acquire DK Metcalf from Seattle. Shedeur has declared himself ready for the challenge, despite other names like Jaxson Dart and Jalen Milroe also being on Pittsburgh’s radar.
