The Green Bay Packers are getting ready to challenge a tough division like the NFC North. Not only do they want to win the division, but make a deep playoff push in the NFL. Their quarterback Jordan Love is up to taking the baton on that mission, and he knows what to improve to make him and the team better.
Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reported that Love said he wants to run more in 2025. The quarterback stated that he will focus on taking fewer check-downs as well. Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenovich also spoke on Love words of running more. “That’s a huge weapon and Jordan has that ability to make some big plays down the field,” Stenovich said, per Schneidman.
This is massive news for the Packers. Love is not precisely known as a dual-threat quarterback, instead he’s more of a pocket passer. This change could give Green Bay’s offense a new dimension.
Matt LaFleur could do wonders with a mobile QB
Matt LaFleur has established as one of the best head coaches in the NFL. His offensive play-calling is just elite. He knows how to make the best of what he’s got and his offense is very unpredictable.

Matt LaFleur, head coach of the Green Bay Packers, reacts against the Tennessee Titans during the second quarter at Nissan Stadium on September 22, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee.
If LaFleur adds to his already vast repertoire the fact that he can draw plays for Love to run or use his quarterback as a weapon on the rushing offense, it could be a problem for the NFL. LaFleur is an expert on figuring out new ways to move the chains.

Packers don’t have elite weapons
In reality, if you look at the Packers roster, you won’t find any elite receivers. What you will find is plenty of above average players. Their best receiver last season was Jayden Reed, who had 857 receiving yards. It’s not remotely near the top 27 wideouts in the NFL, who all surpassed 990 yards.
Running back Josh Jacobs was the clear-cut best weapon on the team as he had 1671 scrimmage yards and 16 touchdowns. Besides him, this is an average offense who puts points consistently thanks to their head coach’s genius.
