Since Lamar Jacksonās arrival with the Baltimore Ravens, many have hoped for a Super Bowl ring. Despite being named MVP of the regular season twice, that goal has yet to be achieved. Todd Monken, offensive coordinator on John Harbaughās staff, knows the QB has not yet reached his ceiling and is confident he will perform at a high level in the 2025 NFL season.
During a recent appearance on āThe Lounge Podcast,ā the former OC of the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, among others, acknowledged that while last seasonās numbers werenāt ideal, he believes Jackson hasnāt shown his best performance yet and still has much more to give to the franchise in the NFL.
āThe year that he had, I think heās still just scratching the surface of where heās headed,ā Monken said. āIt may not statistically show up that way, but I know heās only the scratching the surface.ā
Furthermore, Monken didnāt hesitate to highlight one of the most important qualities that the former Louisville Cardinals player possesses, not only when it comes to training but also in terms of competing week after week: āLamar is an unbelievably humble superstar.ā

Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken of the Baltimore Ravens looks on during training camp at Under Armour Performance Center Baltimore Ravens on August 12, 2024 in Owings Mills, Maryland.
āThat doesnāt mean heās not competitive, doesnāt want to be great. Lamar just wants to win. But he also knows that him playing well ⦠your chances of winning go up exponentially if you have a great quarterback,ā he concluded.

Jacksonās key attributes according to Monken
Itās no coincidence that since Jacksonās arrival with the Ravens, the Baltimore franchise has become a serious contender not only in the AFC North but across the league. Todd Monken has worked hand in hand with the QB in recent years and knows firsthand the key characteristics that set Lamar apart from his peers.
āHe has unbelievable vision,ā Monken said. āThe way he sees the field and plays the game is one of one. His ability to escape. Heās so calm. He jumps right, he just left, he jumps back, jumps forward, puts his hand on someoneās face mask. There is no panic. (It) feels like heās in control. Itās unique. Itās fun to work with.ā
Thereās a lot expected from Jackson in the upcoming NFL season. Many are confident in their ability to surround him with the best possible support this offseason and to make a strong draft at the end of April. The main goal remains the same: to lead his team to a new Super Bowl.
