2025 Stanley Cup Final prize money: How much have Panthers earned and how much have Oilers lost?

The Florida Panthers have done it again. They won the Stanley Cup after defeating the Edmonton Oilers in 6 games, but how much money have both sides earned after the Final?

Winning feels so good, the Florida Panthers couldn’t let the Edmonton Oilers steal that feeling away from them during the 2025 Stanley Cup Final. After the crowning in six games, how much money do the Panthers take home? And how much do the Oilers secure to help aid the painful loss?

It’s what everybody dreams once they step onto an NHL rink. Winning the Stanley Cup is a feat reserved for only a select group of athletes. The Panthers don’t take that for granted, whatsoever. That mindset allowed the Cats to win their second Stanley Cup in franchise history.

Florida knows what it’s like to languish at the bottom of the league. While many players weren’t in Sunrise during those days, they’ve all been through adversity at some stage in their careers. Now, they are sitting on top of the world. They are the 2025 Stanley Cup champions, many of them back-to-back champs. Such a feat can only be awarded with a ludicrous paycheck.

To the victors go the spoils

The NHL is not the highest-grossing league in North America, but it still pays off in big chunks to its victors after a grueling season. The Panthers can attest to that statement, as they secured a hefty check following their cup-clinching triumph in Game 6. But how much are they exactly winning?

According to The Athletic, the Stanley Cup winner, a.k.a. the Florida Panthers will secure a $6,539,375 check for their dominant postseason run.

Meanwhile, the Oilers will have $3,781,250 to make up for their heartbreaking defeat in the biggest stage. It won’t be enough, regardless. Winning the Cup is priceless. Apparently, it has a price tag not even Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid’s contract can afford.

The ultimate price

Needless to say, though, not one player on either team is currently thinking about those checks. The Panthers can’t be bothered with anything but celebrating their back-to-back Stanley Cups.

As for the Oilers, they’ll have a tough time living down yet another haunting visit to Amerant Bank Arena, which has become Connor McDavid’s nightmare alley. McDavid has yet to win his first Stanley Cup, and the comparisons to Wayne Gretzky and Sidney Crosby are beginning to feel more distant.

There’s a reason players withstand all sorts of injuries to stay on the ice during the Stanley Cup Playoffs—and it’s not the money. It’s their legacies, their hunger for glory. Everyone is willing to go the extra mile just to lift Lord Stanley over their heads. Such a simple act, anatomically, yet such a powerful statement. It means history has been made—and it can never be erased.
