It's been a long wait, but the Final Round of the Concacaf World Cup Qualification for Qatar 2022 will finally begin. Mexico head into the so-called The Ocho aiming to seal a place in the soccer greatest event, but they'll have to begin their road without Javier Chicharito Hernandez.

The Los Angeles Galaxy superstar has had an impressive start to the 2021 MLS Regular Season but that was not enough for him to take part in the 2021 Gold Cup nor in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

This time, he won't be in the final stage of the World Cup Qualifying either, regardless of his fantastic performances this year. Here, check out why is Chicharito missing these games with El Tri.

The reason why Chicharito is not part of Mexico's squad

For those who need context, Chicharito is actually not playing for Mexico since 2019. It is believed that the reason for it was him going out partying during an international break, even though Gerardo Martino has denied his absence has anything to do with it.

However, for this fixtures Chicharito Hernandez wasn't eligible anyway as he hasn't recovered from a calf injury he suffered in June in the final minutes of Galaxy's 3-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes.

Unfortunately, Chicha hasn't seen the field since that setback, missing the MLS All-Star Game. The Galaxy have struggled without him as he got off to a great start with 10 goals in 10 appearances. But, no matter how good he performs, it seems like he won't return to the national team easily.
