Arsenal and Liverpool were set to start their respective seasons today when they met for the 2020 Community Shield. Obviously, all eyes were set on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the Gunnersand Mo Salah for the Reds.

Liverpool controlled the ball and the chances during the first couple of minutes, even scoring a goal that was later called off due to offside, and it looked like Jürgen Klopp’s team was going to defend their English Premier League title with ease.

That’swhen Mikel Arteta’s counter-attacking Arsenal took control of the situation and jumped to a 1-0 lead. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got the ball on the edge of the box and sent a stunner past Alisson Becker.

For those who lack the context, Hollywood legend Chadwick Boseman passed away last night after 4 years battling colon cancer. Needless to say, social media was flooded with tributes and messages honoring the late actor.

Then, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the first soccer player in the world to pay their respects to ‘Black Panther’, celebrating his beautiful score vs. Liverpool with the ‘Wakanda Forever’ salute from the MCU film.

It’s also worth noting that Aubameyang is a well-documented fan of comic books and superheroes, as he even used to celebrate his goals at Borussia Dortmund wearing a Spiderman mask.

Chadwick Boseman was a beloved figure in the sports community. He was a judge in the All-Star Slam Dunk Contest and even brought Dodgers’ legend Jackie Robinson to life when he starred in ’42’.

LeBron James, Trae Young, Zach LaVine, Pau Gasol, and Bradley Beal, among many other NBA stars took it to their social media accounts to pay their respects to the late actor, who made over 7 films after being diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer.
