Costa Rica finished the 2021 Gold Cup group stage strongly defeating Jamaica 1-0 in a hard-fought match at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston. The Reggae Boyz had a better start to the game, though, but they couldn’t put themselves in front. After a goalless first half, the Ticos returned better from the break and veteran idol Bryan Ruiz gave his side the edge with a perfect header inside the box. Later, Costa Rica were down to ten men asLeonel Moreira saw the red card for a handball outside the box, but they held on to their lead and secured allthree points.
