The moment all soccer fans were waiting for was finally here: Real Madrid traveled to Catalunya to face off vs. Barcelona for another edition of El Clásico, the strongest and most popular rivalry all over the globe.
And, as expected, the game wasn’t short of emotions – and controversies. Federico Valverde scored a stunner five minutes into the game before Ansu Fati scored the equalizer just three minutes later.
Then, it looked like Casemiro committed a penalty over Lionel Messi, but the referees concluded that he hit the ball first. Madrid and Barcelona went back-and-forth for the remainder of the 1st half, with both teams having plenty of chances.
The second half was underway and it didn’t take long before we got another goal, as Clément Lenglet grabbed Sergio Ramos by his shirt and the referee ruled it a penalty after Ramos oversold the infraction.
Needless to say, the Spaniard superstar scored from the spot with a beautiful strike past Neto, and Zinedine Zidane was backon top in one of the most exciting games we’ve had since the start of the season.
The excitement wouldn’t stop there, as Real Madrid held on to the lead despite Barcelona’s creating most of the opportunities, and capped off the 1-3 win with a perfect score by Luka Modric after shaking off Neto.
