Ever since it was founded 77 years ago, Club León made great strides in Mexican soccer. Known as the most popular soccer team in Guanajuato, they boast a loyal and strong fanbase that follows them all over the continent.

Needless to say, Club León is far from the winningest team in Liga MX history. They've had their fair share of ups and downs but like all passionate clubs, they've bounced back and risen from their ashes.

Throughout their history, and against all odds, Club León have won seven Liga MX titles. In the following paragraphs, we're going to let you know everything there is to know about every single one of them.

Every Liga MX Title In León History

1947-48: Club León won the fifth edition of the 'Liga Mayor', as it was known back in the day. Both León and Oro were tied with 36 points at the end of the season thus they have to play out the winner, with León beating them 2-0 to take the trophy home.

1948-49: Club León didn't stop there and imposed its dominance on the very next season, winning back-to-back titles for the first and only time in club history. That time, they didn't need a tiebreaker as they ended up in first place with 39 points.

1951-52: La Fiera had to wait another couple of years before winning another title. Unsurprisingly, they needed another close finish to end up on top, taking down Chivas by just one point in the finish line.

1955-56: Back in the day, Club León and Oro went back-and-forth for the definition of the title. Once again, however, León had the last laugh by winning their 4th title, while Oro finished the second place for the 3rd time in club history.

1991-92: Club León had to endure quite some difficult times before coming back to the top of the world. 36 years after winning the title, they pulled it off again. They were the 4th seed and beat Pumas UNAM, Cruz Azul, and Puebla to win their 5th title.

Apertura 2013: Los Esmeraldas waited 21 years before lifting the trophy again. They ended in third place in the regular season before imposing their power in the liguilla, beating Morelia, Santos, and América to clinch another title.

Clausura 2014: One year later, Club León would win their next trophy to date. Led by veteran star Rafa Márquez, they made the liguillas as the 8th seeded team. Then, they pulled off three major upsets, beating Cruz Azul, Toluca, and Pachuca.

Torneo Guardianes 2020: Six years after they won the Clausura 2014 title and behind the play of Emmanuel Gigliotti, Angel Mena, and Yario Moreno, León was able to capture their 8th championship. León was one of the best teams during the regular season, losing only 1 game, and defeated Pumas of UNAM in the finals 3-1 over a two leg series.
