The 2020/21 NBA season is upon us and we can’t wait to see what is going to happen with our favorite teams and players. Several squads enter this season with huge expectations, players will try to demonstrate they can lead their teams to win a championship and more.
The Los Angeles Lakers won a very entertaining season in the Orlando bubble, showing a great game throughout the playoffs, having an easy walk to the title, which was their 17th in NBA history.
LeBron James, Anthony Davis and co. will try to defend their title this upcoming season and according to experts, they are the biggest favorites to win the championship in June of 2021. ESPN polled a group of experts that predicted the next NBA champion. The result? The Lakers are clear favorites to repeat this season.
Los Angeles Lakers are clear favorites to win 2021 NBA title
Last season, they predicted the Lakers were going to finish fifth in the Western Conference while giving them only 29 votes to win the championship (the Clippers earned 117 points (54.5% first-place votes)). This season they have changed their mind and have identified the Lakers as the biggest favorites to win it all this campaign.
1. Los Angeles Lakers: 132 points (86% first-place votes)
2. Milwaukee Bucks: 50 points (7% first-place votes)
3. LA Clippers: 30 points (7% first-place votes)
The purple and gold know they had a terrific offseason that puts them as favorites to win back-to-back titles. The additions of Dennis Schroder, Marc Gasol, Montrezl Harrell and Wesley Matthews make them a threat for everybody else in the league.
More teams like the Nets, Warriors, Nuggets, Jazz and Celtics will try to make some noise and put pressure on the Lakers but as things stand right now, LeBron James and his team are poised to win their second straight NBA championship.
