The United States is coming back in action today for Matchday 2 of Gold Cup 2021 against Martinique. After winning with a lone goal against Haiti, the USMNT will try to get more goals in their second match to try to steal the first place of Group B.

Martinique, which just was demolished by Canada in their opening game (4-1), will try to prevent another result like that from happening. However, it won’t be easy for the Caribbean nation, as it will play against one of the favorites and the hosts.

USA and Martinique have played each other two times in the Gold Cup, with two wins for the United States. The first match took place in 2003 and USA won 2-0, while the most recent one was in 2017, and USA won 3-2.

Martinique's confirmed lineup

Martinique coach Mario Bocaly tried a 4-3-3 formation against Canada. The bold move was rewarded with an early goal but the North American side was too powerful to sustain it. Now, he will try a more defensive approach with a double pivot.

So, this will be Martinique’s lineup for the match: Meslien; Gerald, Babin, Crétinoir, Burner; Camille, Hérelle, Marajo, Fortune; Abaul, Rivière.

USA confirmed lineup

On the other hand, Gregg Berhalter tried a team with some new names against Haiti. However, the USMNT manager has decided to make a lot of changes to the starting eleven. Therefore, the USA's lineup for this match will be: Turner, Moore, Robinson, Zimmerman, Bello; Sands, Busio, Williamson; Roldan, Dike, Hoppe.
