The USWNT and Paraguay will face each other this week in an international friendly, the first match of the US women’s national team after the Olympics. This will be the first game of a two-match series against the South Americans.

The US women’s national team will be back in action after a “disappointing” journey in Tokyo 2020, where the girls lost to Canada in the semifinals. However, the Stars and the Stripes ended up winning bronze against Australia.

The team will be looking ahead, including their preparation for the World Cup 2023 Qualifiers. Several members of the Olympic team will not play due to injury, including Alyssa Naeher, Sam Mewis, Julie Ertz, and Megan Rapinoe, while Christen Press is taking a break from the game to focus on her mental health.
