Christian Pulisic is back and he did it in a great way, scoring the 4th goal of the evening for Chelsea, who were merciless against Russian side Krasnodar in Matchday 2 of the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea didn’t start the season the best way, tying against Sevilla at Stamford Bridge last week. The Blues needed to demonstrate they are ready to compete and fight for this tournament and Krasnodar were their victims.

It was a 4-0 win for the London side, with the American player finishing things up with a goal in injury time. The 22-year-old had a terrific game, coming off the bench at the 71st minute to turn things around for his team, which had scored only one goal at the time he entered the pitch.

Christian Pulisic scores against Krasnodar for Chelsea

Christian recently returned from an injury and wasn’t expected to have many minutes during this game. It wasn’t until the 71st minute that Frank Lampard decided to use him and that was the best decision the English boss could make.

Pulisic drew a penalty and scored the last goal of his team. A couple of minutes after he stepped on the field, he got a pass after a run down the middle, he entered the box, shot the ball that hit a defender’s hand to give a penalty for his side.

Timo Werner took it and made the 2-0 in favor of the English giants.

A couple of minutes later, during injury time, the young player sent a near-post tally from close range to beat Krasnodar’s goalkeeper and put the last goal on the scoreboard.

With this goal, Pulisic tied DeMarcus Beasley for most goals scored by an American player in the Champions League. The young player scored his 4th goal in the competition, the same number that the PSV icon made during his days in Europe.

Pulisic is one of the most promising players in the world and the future of American soccer. It’s good to know that he’s recovering his best version, in the best club competition in the world.
