Given the date, it will be the penultimate match of the season for both clubs, with only Premier League Matchday 38 remaining. Additionally, neither team has qualified for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

What is San Mames Stadium like?

San Mames Stadium is one of the newest venues in Spain. It opened partially in 2013, with full completion achieved the following year, and the construction cost was approximately €173 million (around $194 million). The field dimensions follow the standard for professional soccer: 105 m x 68 m (344 ft x 223 ft).

While the stadium primarily hosts Athletic Bilbao’s home matches, it has also served as the stage for several major events. It was the venue for the 2024 UEFA Women’s Champions League final, where Barcelona defeated Olympique Lyonnais. It also hosted the 2018 European Rugby Champions Cup final and major concerts, including a Guns N’ Roses show in 2017.

Despite reaching the UEFA Europa League final, both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have struggled in other competitions this season. In the Premier League, both sides sit in the lower half of the standings, occupying 15th and 16th place, respectively.

Throughout the season, the Red Devils and the Spurs have faced off three times, with Tottenham winning all three. In Premier League action, they claimed a 3-0 victory at Old Trafford on September 29 and a 1-0 win in London on February 16.
