Three-time Grand Slam finalist and 2020 Olympic champion Alexander Zverev has been one of the most consistent players on tour in recent years. The current World No. 2 was asked to build his perfect player, but surprisingly, he did not mention Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer.
In a video shared by Bitpanda, a brand for which Zverev is an ambassador, the German selected the players he considered to have the best shots. For the forehand, he chose Carlos Alcaraz, while for the backhand, he picked Novak Djokovic. For the best serve, he went with John Isner.
When asked to name the player with the best overall tennis tactics, Zverev replied, āDefinitely not me,ā before jokingly choosing his brother Mischa Zverev, who retired in 2023 and joined the 2025 Australian Open finalist in the video.
Zverev already chose Djokovic as tennisā GOAT
Back in 2021, Zverev had already praised Djokovic as the greatest player of all time. āWhat Djokovic does for this sport is incredible. No one thought weād see something like what Rod Laver did all those years ago,ā he said.
āI think Novak is going to try to break every single record in tennis. If you look at his statistics and his playing style, heās the best player of all time. Thereās no one like him,ā Zverev added after losing to Djokovic at the US Open.
