Stewart’s status remains uncertain, but the questionable designation is at least a sign of progress. While her participation is in doubt, there is growing optimism that she could return to the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/wnba">WNBA</a> bench soon, even if her minutes are limited.

<h2>Injury-riddled</h2>



The Fever’s playoff hopes are hanging on the hands of a stacked roster, that simply can’t catch a break. Clark has now missed 12 consecutive games due to a right groin injury. The scuffles that took place during Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun’s June 17 match are still a talking point among fans and players. After <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/wnba/sophie-cunninghams-defense-of-caitlin-clark-ignites-heated-debate-online-leading-to-unexpected-petition">Sophie Cunningham’s defense on Caitlin Clark went viral and led to a petition</a>, now Sun guard Marina Mabrey has broken her silence on her incident with Clark with an eight-word message.

Thomas was an unrestricted free agent heading into the offseason, but the Sun utilized their core designation to retain her negotiating rights. Thomas could only leave the team through a trade, which she had to approve. “Thomas also had to sign off on her ultimate trade destination,” Philippou reported on X.

Connecticut Sun star Alyssa Thomas is one of the 36 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/wnba">WNBA</a> players to have joined Unrivaled, the 3v3 league created by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier. While the new league hasn’t officially started yet, Thomas took the opportunity to praise the project while also putting her franchise on blast during the media availability session.



“I’m focused on Unrivaled right now. They have everything you possibly need here. They don’t really have a lot of those things in Connecticut. I’ve been trying to absorb as much knowledge as I can,” Thomas said, according to an X post from Sara Jane Gamelli.



The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/connecticut-sun">Connecticut Sun</a>, owned by the Mohegan Tribe, don’t have their own practice facility. Thomas’ words come after the players went viral last season for having to share the court with a community event as they held a practice just 24 hours prior to their first playoff game against Indiana Fever.



At the time, Thomas also shared her disappointment with the situation. “It’s normal at this point. I mean, Mohegan has to do better. We’re [a] professional team. We’re competing for playoffs. And yeah, to have to share your court with a two-year-old[‘s] birthday party, [it’s the] ultimate disrespect,” she said, as per The Next Hoops.

The Connecticut Sun has found its replacement for Stephanie White, who resigned one month ago to join Caitlin Clark’s <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/indiana-fever">Indiana Fever</a>. The franchise announced on Wednesday, Dec. 4, that Rachid Meziane will succeed her.



The 44-year-old coach brings nearly two decades of experience, most recently with the French team Villeneuve-d’Ascq. He also coached the Belgian women’s national team to a fourth-place finish at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.



This announcement comes just one day after Connecticut promoted Morgan Tuck to general manager, replacing Darius Taylor, who will now serve as the team’s chief basketball strategist and director of scouting.



In a statement, Tuck praised Meziane for his “extensive experience, passion, and proven track record of success, all of which will play a key role in elevating both our players and the team as a whole.”
