Jared Goff&nbsp;hasn’t played all that well as of late, but he’s a seasoned veteran who has already taken a team to the big game. Also, this team would run through a wall for HC&nbsp;Dan Campbell,&nbsp;and they have the mindset and the spirit.



The Lions have&nbsp;struggled historically,&nbsp;and it’s not usual to see them at this stage. But if they’re able to shake off their lifelong woes, they could be very dangerous in the postseason.

The&nbsp;Los Angeles Rams&nbsp;looked ready to plan ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft, but they refused to give up. They’re peaking at the right time, and you know they’re one of the best-coached teams in the league.

Matthew Stafford&nbsp;is one of the greatest quarterbacks of his generation, and he’s already led his team to the Vince Lombardi trophy. Add Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp to that mix, and you have plenty of postseason experience.



The Rams are the kind of team that cannot be overlooked because of their combination of youth and veteran leaders, and&nbsp;Sean McVay&nbsp;has proven that they’re far from done.

The&nbsp;Cleveland Browns&nbsp;shouldn’t be here. Not after all they’ve been through and all the injuries they’ve suffered. Yet, here they are, and no one wants to mess with them right now.



Jim Schwartz&nbsp;has turned their defense into the best in the league, anchored by potential Defensive Player of the Year&nbsp;Myles Garrett.&nbsp;They have an elite pass rush and can shut down the run as well.



On top of that,&nbsp;Joe Flacco&nbsp;is turning back the clock and playing the best football of his career, and he’s one of the all-time greats when it comes to winning playoff games on the road.

The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/new-york-jets" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">New York Jets’</a> once-promising season went down the drain right before their eyes. Losing <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/aaron-rodgers" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Aaron Rodgers</a> in their first offensive drive of the season condemned to another playoff-less campaign, and their decision not to pursue a veteran replacement only made things worse.



Unsurprisingly, that also took a big toll on the Jets’ running game. Their offensive line was far from efficient, and not having a solid QB situation also closed all lanes for their backs.



On top of that, Dalvin Cook was clearly behind young star Breece Hall in the pecking order. He was rarely featured in Nathaniel Hackett’s offense, and his talents were going to waste in the Big Apple.

The Kansas City Chiefs are no longer the offensive juggernaut they used to be, but they’re still the reigning Super Bowl champions and the team to beat until proven otherwise.



Clyde Edwards-Helaire will never be the star they thought he’d be, and Isiah Pacheco has done a great job as the featured back. Then again, they need to add more depth to that running back room.



Jerick McKinnon will continue to handle the passing-down duties, but adding Cook could give them a massive threat in goal-line and red-zone situations, which is where they’ve struggled the most this season.



<h2>2. Cleveland Browns</h2>



The Cleveland Browns lost Nick Chubb just a couple of games into the season. That was just the start of a trend for Kevin Stefanski’s team, which has dealt with more injuries than everybody else in the league.

Stefanski and Cook go a long way back. He used to be the Minnesota Vikings’ offensive coordinator, and Cook had the best years of his career when he was calling the shots.



Jerome Ford is the Browns’ lead back, with Kareem Hunt handling change-of-pace duties. Needless to say, Cook would be an upgrade over both of them for the resilient Browns.



<h2>1. Dallas Cowboys</h2>



Ironically, Dak Prescott has been the best offensive player for the Dallas Cowboys this season. That’s just months after being deemed the weakest link and only Achilles heel of the offense.



However, the running game has been pretty much a non-factor in Dallas. Either because of a poor offensive line, play-calling, or a lack of talent, Tony Pollard has failed to step up as a true lead back.



The Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl in almost three decades, and this feels like their best chance in a while. They can’t leave anything to chance, and adding Cook looks like a no-brainer.

However, despite that, Saleh has no regrets about his decision.

<h2>Jets Have Love For Flacco, But There Are No Regrets</h2>



“I don’t think I ever let myself go there,” Saleh told Newsday. “We love Joe, first and foremost. We spent a couple of years with him, love him, love the way he prepares, really pumped for him and the success he’s having. It’s just the decision we made in terms of the quarterback room and the way we developed it over the course of OTAs and training camp. It was just a decision we made.”



Flacco wasn’t at his best during his three-year stint with the Jets, but he could’ve at least given them a veteran presence and leadership in the locker room. Now, he’s become a fan favorite in Cleveland and is having a movie-like career resurgence:



“I enjoyed my time while I was there, and it is what it is,” Flacco said. “I’m happy to be where I am, that’s for sure. There’s 32 teams in the NFL. They’re just another one. I got a lot of guys over there I really respect and had an awesome few years in that locker room. So a lot of respect for those guys.”



<h2>Football Isn’t That Simple</h2>



Of course, it’s not like Flacco would’ve led the Jets to success right away. They don’t have the same elite offensive line the Browns have, and with his lack of mobility, chances are he would’ve fared as poorly as Wilson did, but that’s something we’ll never know now.

The fact that he’s been the best quarterback for the Browns this season speaks volumes about him not being as washed as some fans and analysts said. It also proves that there was a lot more the Jets front office could’ve done to solve their situation.

Now, Flacco and the Browns can clinch a postseason berth with a win over his former team. And while the defense won’t make it easy for him, this Browns team has been the opposite of the Jets; they’ve been the most resilient squad in the entire league, constantly finding ways to win regardless of who’s hurt and who’s playing.

After another great performance for Joe Flacco, head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed the veteran will lead the offense permanently. It’s a massive announcement for the Browns as they control their destiny to get into the playoffs.


 

 


During the press conference following the victory against the Jaguars, a reporter asked Stefanski if he was ready to name Joe Flacco the starting quarterback going forward. The answer was immediate: “Yes.”



“Joe played well. You expect him to get better as he gets more comfortable in our system with our players. We want to be playing our best football in December. That’s our goal.”

<h2>Will the Browns make the playoffs?</h2>



The Cleveland Browns are currently the No.5 seed in the AFC with an 8-5 record. This means they control their destiny to clinch a wild card spot. However, the Browns still have a shot at the AFC North chasing the Baltimore Ravens (10-3).



Their remaining schedule is pretty favorable: Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengas. If the Browns win out, they’re in at least as the best wild card.
