The Cleveland Browns were one of the franchises that made bold moves in the latest NFL Draft. Among several intriguing decisions, they used their picks to bring in two new quarterbacks from the college ranks. Now, head coach Kevin Stefanski faces a key decision regarding the future of this position moving forward.

As of now, the Browns’ HC has four potential options to start under center in Week 1 — and that’s not even counting Deshaun Watson, who remains sidelined with an injury. With so many alternatives on the roster, the question on everyone’s mind is: will they all stay on the team throughout the season?

According to recent comments from NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, it’s unlikely that Stefanski will keep all four quarterbacks on the roster throughout the season, citing the overcrowded nature of the position group as the main reason.

Who will be QB1?

Kevin Stefanski faces a pivotal decision at the quarterback position. Joe Flacco, the seasoned veteran of the group, brings leadership and a deep understanding of the game. He offers reliability in high-pressure situations, though age and mobility could play against him in the long run.

Kenny Pickett, acquired from the Steelers, provides a younger option with starting experience at the NFL level. While his tenure in Pittsburgh was inconsistent, a fresh start in Cleveland could unlock his potential. His mobility and aggressive approach may suit a more dynamic offensive scheme.

Rounding out the group are two intriguing rookies. Shedeur Sanders, a fifth-round pick out of Colorado, arrives with upside and raw talent, but will need time to adjust to the pro level. Meanwhile, Dillon Gabriel, selected in the third round from Oregon, brings accuracy and strong field vision, making him a developmental prospect with short-term upside.

The Browns’ early schedule

  • vs Cincinnati Bengals, September 7th
  • vs Baltimore Ravens, September 14th
  • vs Green Bay Packers, September 21st
  • vs Detroit Lions, September 28th
