<h2>Arenas has defended Bronny before</h2>



This isn’t the first time <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba/lakers-bronny-james-could-be-a-contender-for-rookie-of-the-year-says-three-time-nba-all-star">Gilbert Arenas has highlighted the positive impact Bronny James has had for the Lakers during his rookie season</a>. <h2>Bronny James is finding his best version</h2>



Bronny James’ performance of 39 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists in 38 minutes against the Santa Cruz Warriors on Monday night was the best he’s had since joining the G-League with the South Bay Lakers. However, this is not the only accomplishment he has achieved recently.



Last Thursday, he also had his best performance in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba">NBA</a>, posting 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists in 30 minutes during the Lakers’ game against the Milwaukee Bucks, which even earned him praise from head coach J.J. Redick.

Arenas arrived at this conclusion by extrapolating Bronny’s current NBA statistics—1.7 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.4 assists—by multiplying them according to his 4.2 minutes per game. Following this, one of his podcast co-hosts suggested that the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/los-angeles-lakers">Lakers</a> should give Bronny more playing time. To this, Arenas responded: “Where would he play? Over Luka (Doncic)? Kobe Bryant came off the bench, man, he was the future.”



The former Washington Wizards guard also expressed that the level of scrutiny directed at Bronny is unusual. “When have we ever attacked a rookie player? We still haven’t even attacked last year’s players for flopping, if any of them flopped,” Arenas remarked. “Last year, what’s the top ten? Do we know any of them, besides Wemby (Victor Wembanyama)? We’re talking about 40-50 million dollar people. And we have nothing to say about them.”

<h2>Arenas thinks criticism of Bronny James is unfair</h2>



In the same conversation, Gilbert Arenas argued that Bronny James has received less patience than other rookies in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba">NBA</a>, even from former players. “As hoopers, you give them the opportunity,” Arenas said.

<h2>Bronny’s situation is unique, says Arenas</h2>



Gilbert Arenas then addressed why Bronny James has been under such intense scrutiny since joining the NBA. “Let’s say Bronny don’t get picked,” Arenas proposed. “Are you gonna tell us that LeBron James and the Lakers wouldn’t have signed him as a free agent and whoever they picked with the 55th pick wouldn’t have got cut? Are we gonna pretend that wasn’t gonna be the case?”



Finally, Arenas reflected on Bronny James’ arrival in the NBA, suggesting that his presence with the Lakers was inevitable. “No matter where he went, he was gonna be with the Lakers,” he said with conviction. “You know why? Because he’s the moneybag.”

“When they say, ‘Who is the GOAT?’ You say, ‘Jordan’s the GOAT. Kobe’s No. 2.’ But who is No. 3? LeBron’s No. 3 ‘cause he only won four-five (titles),” <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/gilbert-arenas">Arenas</a> said on his Agent Zero podcast. “Why you doing that? Why is there a negative notion on why he’s three?”



The former Washington Wizards guard then attempted to highlight what he perceives as a special bitterness directed toward James. “I want you to go and ask somebody what is their Top 10. When they get to LeBron James, instead of saying he leads the NBA in points scored, he has four rings… They are not going to do that,” Gilbert remarked. “’He switched to Miami’… it’s like they’re trying to explain to you why he’s not No. 1.”



Arenas also pointed out that this treatment doesn’t happen with other players. “When someone says a Top 10 list, there’s only going to be one player that’s gonna have a negative mark on them. When you talk about (Tim Duncan) being No. 8, he got five championships… there’s no negative on him. Only LeBron is gonna get that,” observed the three-time NBA All-Star.

“No. 2 could be No. 1 if he did something, but you didn’t do that to him. No. 4 can be No. 1 if he won all his championships, but you don’t do that to them… There’s no negative notion on the person that’s No. 4,” Gilbert insisted. “LeBron’s No. 3 because he didn’t win this.”

When it comes to the debate over the greatest player of all time in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba">NBA</a>, LeBron James is always a central figure. Some were expecting to see a little more from Flagg so far. Even so, the Blue Devils are stacked with talent, and they admittedly don’t want to run everything through him.
