The Indiana Fever take on the Atlanta Dream tonight at the Gateway Center Arena. Caitlin Clark will miss the game, confirmed coach Stephanie White on Monday. It will be the fifth match without the guard since she suffered a quad strain on May 24.
White told reporters on Monday that Clark is āready to start ramping back upā but there is no rush for the guard to be back. āWeāre going to be smart, and weāre going to be cautious and weāre going to play the long game and work her back in very intentionally,ā White said.
The Fever initially said on May 26 that she would be sidelined at least two weeks with the injury. Itās the first time she has missed game action across her collegiate and professional careers.
Without Clark, the team has a 2-2 record, having lost to the Washington Mystics and the Connecticut Sun before bouncing back to secure a win in the rematch against the Mystics and defeating the Chicago Sky on Saturday.

Clark and Cunningham could be back against the Liberty
Following their game against Atlanta on Tuesday, the Fever wonāt compete again until Saturday, when they welcome the Liberty. This break offers the team time to practice and assess whether Clark and Cunningham could return.
āI think for us, weāve got to work both [Clark] and Sophie back into ⦠are they in basketball condition, what does it mean to go live?ā White said. āItās one thing to do some shooting drills; itās another thing to get out there on the floor, get back into movement patterns, rhythm, timing. [Weāre] picking and choosing the things they can be in practice so we can see their progression.ā
āBoth of them being out for long periods of time, youāve got to work your way back into being game-ready,ā White added. Meanwhile, the team wants to add another victory in their absence to not lose foot in the standings.
