Caitlin Clark wrote her name in college basketball history. Despite not winning a national championship, she has a strong case for being the best player of all time in women’s college hoops.

She took her talents to the WNBA last season, leaving the Iowa Hawkeyes for the Indiana Fever. Nevertheless, she didn’t forget where she came from, and she wanted to give them a helping hand.

According to Hawkeyes coach Jan Jensen, Clark actually offered to practice with the team ahead of their clash with USC so they could prepare to face JuJu Watkins.

Before that game,” Jensen recalls. “About 10 days before, Caitlin says, ‘Hey, do you want me to practice?’ and I said, ‘Don’t tease me.’ “No for real,” Clark told him. “I could be JuJu.”

That speaks volumes about the level of respect she has for Watkins, but also about her passion and love for the game and the basketball program she put on the map.

Ultimately, the Hawkeyes got past the Trojans, and they didn’t need their WNBA superstar to help them, but it was still a nice gesture from the best player in program history.
