For years, NBA scouts raved about Cooper Flagg, deeming him the next American big thing in basketball, and hoping that he would end the international players’ dominance over the MVP award.
He didn’t disappoint in his lone season with the Duke Blue Devils, cementing himself as the consensus first-overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, currently owned by the Dallas Mavericks.
With that in mind, a Mavs fan account took to X to share a clip of NBA legend Chris Paul, who’s a free agent target for them, raving about Flagg at the 2023 Peach Jam.

“Every game too. He’s doing it every game. He’s doing it every game,” Paul acknowledged.
The veteran point guard will now be a free agent, and he’s right there in Texas, as he played for the San Antonio Spurs. With Kyrie Irving likely out for the season, he’s a cheap stopgap at the position.
Paul has embraced a veteran mentor and leader role at this point in his career, and while he might consider retirement, the chance of playing with Flagg might convince him to run it back for another year.
