Not so long ago, the college basketball community was talking about how JuJu Watkins could lead the USC Trojans to the national championship. She was in the midst of a spectacular season.

Unfortunately, her stellar campaign was cut short early in the postseason. She sustained a season-ending ACL injury in the NCAA Tournament, thus ending her team’s hopes.

But as tough as these days have been for the young guard, Watkins recently admitted that multiple colleagues who had been through the same thing, such as Paige Bueckers, reached out to her to share her wishes and insight on her recovery.

JuJu Watkins gushes about support

“I didn’t realize until my injury that there is a whole ACL community,” Watkins said in an appearance at a Fanatics event.

ACL injuries are usual in basketball, and while it’s terrible, it’s just another part of the game. Hopefully, it won’t take a toll on Watkins’ game, and she’ll return to her previous level.

While she still has some time before being eligible to turn pro, she has all the tools to be one of the best players not only in college basketball but also in WNBA history.
