Most rumors claim that Albert Pujols is finally ready to call it quits after this season. That would be fitting, as he’s been around Major League Baseball for the past 20 years and all good things eventually come to an end.

Pujols is one of the greatest sluggers of all time, one of the most intimidating players to ever set foot on the plate, and one of the most beloved teammatEs and persons any other player could think of.

That’s why it was suchhuge praise when he said that Miguel Cabrera is the best hitter he’s ever faced during a long interview with USA Today, adding that Mike Trout is the best overall player he’s ever seen:“Miguel Cabrera, the best hitter by far,” Pujols said.

Albert Pujols Says He’s Still Undecided On Retirement

Then again, what people really want to know about Pujols right now is whether he’ll retire or not. And while most indications point towards a farewell, he said he’s still not fully committed to that idea:

“I’ll make that decision at the end of the year. And when that timecomes that I do retire, it won’t be on Instagram or anything like that. My fans deserve better than that. I’ll have a press conference so everyone knows at once. But my mind isn’t going there right now,” the former Cardinals star said.

Pujols claims that he has no regrets about his career and that’s only right. I mean, he’s a 2-time World Series champion with a flawless résumé, so why should he have any kind of regret?

Thus far, the Dominican has made it to 10 All-Star Games, he’s won 3 National League MVPs, 6 Silver Slugger awards, 2 Gold Glove awards, and has logged over 3,200 career hits with a lifetime average of .299.
