The Milwaukee Brewers have positioned themselves as a team to watch this season, boasting a formidable 66-44 record, one of the best in MLB. However, as they prepare for upcoming challenges, the Brewers have encountered a setback ahead of the Washington Nationals concerning a rookie standout who was controversially called up to the MLB All-Star game.
The Brewers’ fan base is optimistic about the remainder of the season. After falling short in last year’s Wild Card series, there’s a renewed hope that this talented squad can make a deeper postseason run this year.
Amid this backdrop, Jacob Misiorowski, who was enjoying an impressive season, received concerning news regarding his eligibility for upcoming games. The Brewers released a statement on their official social media accounts confirming Misiorowski’s injury status.
“Jacob Misiorowski has been diagnosed with a left tibia contusion and will be placed on the 15-day Injured List,” the Brewers announced. In his absence, Logan Henderson will take the mound as the starter for the series finale against the Nationals.
Misiorowski’s impact and injury
As a rookie, Misiorowski’s performances have been noteworthy in his seven appearances this season, particularly with the speed of his pitches, where he recorded a blazing 103 MPH, the second highest in the league. Despite allowing four home runs, he has recorded a 2.70 ERA, with 18 hits and 11 runs conceded, earning him a spot in the All-Star game.
During Misiorowski’s 15-day absence, the Brewers can rely on key players such as Freddy Peralta and another rising star, Quinn Priester, who has also excelled this season.
Brewers’ stellar regular season performance
Milwaukee’s success this season can be attributed to the stellar performances of multiple team members. Misiorowski remains a key player, but others have stepped up, including William Contreras with a 2.8 ERA, and Jackson Chourio, who leads the league with 123 hits and 445 at-bats.
Chourio has also logged 29 home runs and 71 runs scored. Added to this mix are Bryce Turang with 62 runs, Sal Frelick with 17 stolen bases, and Christian Yelich’s impressive 20 home runs, collectively fueling a sense of optimism among Brewers fans.
