Bryce Harper recently spoke again about Kyle Schwarber’s contract situation with the Philadelphia Phillies, making it clear he wants to see his teammate stay with the team as he enters the final months of his current deal.
“Yeah, I mean, I don’t see him playing anywhere else,” Harper said during the Phillies Extra show with Scott Lauber. “Obviously, I don’t make those decisions. But as a team leader and a captain and everything else, he brings so much value to our team. Not only on the field, but off the field as well.”
This isn’t the first time Harper has voiced his support for Schwarber. Just a few weeks ago, he made similar comments, saying he hoped Schwarber would remain with the team he’s played for since 2022.
Harper Emphasizes Schwarber’s Impact
Schwarber isn’t just putting together a strong 2025 MLB season—his presence in the clubhouse has meant a lot to Harper and the team. Harper credited him with helping shape the team culture and being a key influence both on and off the field.
“We have such a good clubhouse and he’s one of our main guys of why we do. And so, we bounce stuff off each other all the time. I have so much respect for Kyle and what he’s done in this game. Like you said, he’s become just such an impact bat—not just for our team, but in all of baseball.”

What Could Schwarber Earn in a New Deal?
The Phillies haven’t made an official offer yet, and Schwarber is still playing under his existing contract. However, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported weeks ago that Schwarber could easily land a deal worth around $100 million—whether that’s from Philadelphia or another team.
