Once again, the New York Yankees entered the MLB season with high hopes and expectations, and once again, they're struggling to win some games. Right now, they've dropped 5 straight matchups and 8 of the last 10.

If that wasn't enough, it's pretty obvious that the Bronx Bombers just can't seem to figure the Tampa Bay Rays out. They've now lost 20 out of their past 28 series, including last year's ALDS.

Aaron Boone's squad currently owns the worst record in the American League East Division and the team's morale took a massive hit following yesterday's loss, according to superstar pitcher Gerrit Cole.

Gerrit Cole Says Yankees Gotta Play 'Hard Baseball'

“Certainly not happy. It’s not happy,” Cole said when asked about the clubhouse's status following the loss.

"I think we just gotta play hard baseball. Gotta take it one pitch every time and sell out to every pitch. The results will start to come if we stay in that mindset and we leave the field every day exhausted. Good things are on the horizon, but I don’t have the magic wand. I don’t know when it’s going to turn and right now when you’re kinda going through it you just gotta keep grinding and play hard baseball," the ace concluded.

Aaron Boone Says The Team Needs To Work Through The Challenges

“It’s part of being a big leaguer. You got to be able to work through the challenges, the tough moments. The good ones are able to do that. Right now, we got to find a way to build through some small successes and start to play with that confidence and that swagger this team has when they’re going well," Boone said.

It's still pretty early to sound the alarms and the Yankees have enough talent on their roster to turn this thing around. However, the fact that they seem to suffer from the same unsolved issues is worrying and frustating.
