Manny Ramirez starred in one of the weirdest and funniest sequences of the year when he thought he had found a Boston Red Sox fan in Australia. The former Sox outfielder was one of the best players of the team during his time there.

Ramirez was just great with the team, becoming one of the stars on the roster alongside David Ortiz and many others, helping the Sox win their first MLB title in 86 years, breaking the so-called ‘Curse of the Bambino.’

That’s just how important this man was for the Sox but not everybody seems to recognize a legend when they have it in front of them. That’s what happened in Australia, where Manny currently works but is seemingly seen as just a regular dude instead of a 2x World Series champion.

Manny Ramirez hilariously runs into the world’s worst Red Sox fan ever

Manny spotted a young man wearing a hat of his beloved team, the Boston Red Sox and he approached him trying to start a conversation. Ramirez kindly complimented the boy’s hat and asked him who was his favorite player.

However, this “fan” wasn’t having that or didn’t understand the question and revealed his girlfriend (who was standing next to him) gifted him the hat.

“Excuse me, nice hat. Can I ask you a question? Who’s your favorite player?” Ramirez asked the man in the video.

“Are you serious? I got this from my girlfriend. Mate, why?” The man replied.

Ramirez didn’t have more remedy than leave the establishment, visibly disappointed, after complimenting the man’s hat once again. It was an awkward exchange between the outfielder and this person, who didn’t have any clue of who that man was.

Well, Ramirez won two titles with the Sox before retiring from MLB in 2011. Now 47, Ramirez plays for the Sydney Blue Sox, but it’s clear that he’s not getting the same attention he used to get during his time at Fenway Park.
