Noah Syndergaard wasn’t a fan of his former employers and he let them know on Friday after the New York Mets franchise were officially sold to billionaire Steve Cohen. MLB owners officially approved the sale of the Mets to Cohen for a reported $2.4 billion.
The Wilpons weren’t the favorites of anybody who liked and followed the Mets and probably everybody rooting for them is happy that the Wilpons family has stepped aside and given the leadership to someone else.
Well, Thor is one of those, as he couldn’t help but show his excitement with the new chapter of the Mets and all the good things that Cohen can achieve with this team. Noah missed the entire 2020 season due to an injury but now it’s time to return to the field better than ever.
Noah Syndergaard sends a big message to the Wilpons
The right-handed pitcher couldn’t wait to express his true feelings about the Wilpons and the way they did business while they were in charge of the team. Syndergaard expects the new owner of the team to have more respect for players, unlike the prior ones, who didn’t seem to like their employees.
“All I plead is that the new owner treats players and personnel in the organization like people and less like expendable commodities,” Syndergaard said. “That being said, I couldn’t be more excited having the real life Bobby Axelrod leading the charge.”
Everything is done now for the Mets. Not even New York City mayor Bill de Blasio coulddo anything to prevent this sale and he announced that the Mets were free to proceed with the transaction since his legal department didn’t find ‘objections’ for this move.
Things are about to change for the Mets and their fans. Hopefully, Cohen can build a winning team and take them to the promised after several years without any success for the Mets. They last played in the World Series in 2015, with the Kansas City Royals beating them in five games.
