When thinking about the Detroit Tigers jersey one has to take into account the club's long history as well as taking into account what makes up the city of Detroit. When we think about the Tigers we think about tradition and when we think the Motor City well we think just that… CARS! So mixing those elements together, we created two very different, but stylish soccer jersey’s to go along with the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox jerseys concepts.

The Detroit Tigers were established in the MLB in 1901, they were originally established in 1894. They have won four World Series in 1935, 1945, 1968, and lastly in 1984. They have had some amazing players on their roster, including Alan Trammell, “Sweet Lou” Whitaker, Charlie Gehringer, Al Kaline, and none other than the legendary Ty Cobb.

While the Detroit Tigers have been in rebuilding mode since 2017 the fans still remember that very impressive stretch during the 2011 - 2014 season. The club won the AL Central championship in four consecutive seasons (2011-2014) but fell short in the ALCS except in 2012 where afterward they were swept by the San Francisco Giants in four games in the World Series. That being said the Tigers are looking to come back and with a bang so why not have them dress for the occasion.

HOME JERSEY INSPIRED BY THE TIGERS NAME

The home jersey is inspired by the Detroit Tigers name and follows a tiger stripe pattern. The club's classic team logo is what is used as the crest and the classic orange, white, and dark blue color patterns are maintained in different areas of the jersey. The Tigers are in rebuilding mode if they want to come back and strike fear in their opponents with this home jersey it will make Comerica Park a tough place to play.

Did you know that the Detroit Tigers got their name because of the Civil War? The Detroit Light Guard was a military group that fought during the war and the members were referred to as Tigers. When the war ended the group returned to the city and was considered one of the most highly regarded groups ever to come out of Detroit. The Baseball team asked the members to incorporate the name to their team and once they accepted the Detroit Tigers became the Tigers.

The classic Tiger crest with a new color pattern.

The crest is the classic D logo in orange. The logo has been around in one way or another since 1904 in this case we spiced it up by giving the logo an orange color and adding the strips within the logo to further detail the tiger name and brand. It’s a different take on the logo's colors while the jersey incorporates the classic white and dark blue color pattern.

The Tiger face is present on the back of the jersey.

On the back, the neck sports the alternative logo, which is the face of a Tiger. The face of a tiger has been a part of the logo of the club in various forms or another, striking fear in their rivals with the tiger roaring at opponents. This time the opponents will be viewing the tiger face from the back while eating the players' dust as they blow past them on the field.

AWAY JERSEY INSPIRED BY THE MOTOR CITY

We got really creative with the away jersey, we thought what else truly signifies Detroit and that is the American automotive industry. Detroit has widely been recognized as the “Motor City” because of the various automotive companies that are located in the state of Michigan: Ford, GM, Chevrolet to name a few. The jersey pays homage to that industry with a car design so to speak.

The Motor City present on the back of the away jersey.

The color pattern is inspired by the designs you will find on high-speed cars and has two characteristic lines down the middle that you will find in various race cars like Ford or Chevrolet. The colors, while still the club colors they have a carbon fiber feel to them that elevate the pattern.

The tiger stripes along the lines of the jersey.

If you look closely the two lines down the middle have tiger stripes on them. We maintain the idea of the Motor City but the Tigers as a club and brand are still present.  The Tigers want to get back and running as soon as possible and this jersey design incorporated that club ferocity and the speed and power that define American cars.

So what do you think? Did we get the Detroit Tigers MLB soccer-inspired jersey right? The Tigers are ready to retake the MLB by storm if they played the world's game, we are sure these jerseys would be very intimidating.
