Devin Booker is one of the most promising young players in the NBA and as such, his name is often going to pop up in trade rumors. That’s normal given how poorly the Phoenix Suns have fared since drafting him and how much he’s outgrown them already.
The Suns aren’t unlikely to make the playoffs next year with the Western Conference getting the Warriors back at full strength plus the perennial contenders like the Rockets, Blazers, Clippers, Lakers, Spurs, and Nuggets.
Booker’s heroics have gone to waste in the desert, as he’s been in human torch mode for a couple of seasons now, yet his teammates can’t seem to catch up and help him actually win some basketball games.
That’s why it’s rumored that he’s already interested in moving on from the Phoenix Suns, selling his house in Arizona just a couple of years after signing a $158 contract extension with the franchise.
The Minnesota Timberwolves Are Inquiring About Devin Booker’s Availability
And, unsurprisingly, the Minnesota Timberwolves have already tried to reach out to the Suns for a potential trade for him, and even though he’s not available right now, they’re going to keep on pushing, according to Shams Charania:
“The Wolves have been looking into Booker’s potential availability for months but have been given no indication that he is available, league sources said,” Charania wrote in an article for The Athletic.
It’s worth noting that D’Angelo Russell, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Devin Booker have been friends since they were kids and they’d love the idea of playing side by side for many years to come.
Obviously, the Timberwolves would still have to find a way to surround them with elite defenders to actually be able to compete, but whenever you have the chance to pair three of the most promising players in the league, you pull the trigger.
It goes without saying that any potential trade for Booker would most definitely have to be centered around the 1st overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft, but whether a deal is going to be done or not is yet to be seen.
