There’s absolutely no doubt that Kevin Durant is one of the greatest scorers – and players – in NBA history. Saying otherwise would be false or flat-out hating. He’s the main reason why the Brooklyn Nets were the clear-cut favorites to win the Eastern Conference.

Even so, it’s also a fact that Durant has played next to an All-Star / All-NBA guard in every single season – but his rookie year – of his career. He’s always had a co-star to lean on and take some pressure off his shoulders.

That’s why, with both James Harden and Kyrie Irving out of the game with injuries, Durant was in the spotlight and asked to single-handedly lead the Nets to a win over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

NBA Fans Blast Kevin Durant After Loss To Bucks: Funniest Memes And Reactions

Durant was held in check by PJ Tucker and Steve Nash even complained about his physicality. He led his team in scoring but couldn’t prevent them from falling to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s boys.

Needless to say, Durant’s haters flooded social media with hilarious memes, reactions, and videos about his inability to win without an All-NBA guard next to him, comparing him to LeBron James and calling him out for constantly teaming up with superstars.

Basketball is a team sport so there should be no shame in ‘not being able to win on your own’. Still, Durant is perhaps the only superstar in NBA history that has always been more of a luxury asset than a true necessity for his team.

The Golden State Warriors didn’t need him, but he made them significantly better. The same can be said of the Brooklyn Nets. People will never let go of the fact that he left the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the team that beat him in the playoffsand will continue to question his legacy, even if he’s clearly one of the best to ever do it.
