Ever since he made it to the NBA in 2003, LeBron James has made a name for himself for being an outspoken leader for the African American community. From his philanthropic work and the ‘I Promise’ school, The King has always voiced his concerns regarding social injustice issues in the United States.

Now, Draymond Green – who happens to be represented by the same agent and agency that LeBron – is also trying to take a step forward in speaking out on his political and social views, constantly calling out President Donald Trump.

Both LeBron and Green have made the headlines latelyfor theirstance regarding the BLM movement and the racial inequity in the United States, with Draymond calling Trump a ‘master manipulator‘ and James threatening to sit out the remainder of the NBA season in the wake of the shooting of Jacob Blake.

Former NBA Player Calls Out LeBron James And Draymond Green

Green went on record on CNN to speak about the importance of spreading awareness and getting people registered to vote. However, former Sacramento King Royce White believes his stand is hypocritical, as he should be in the trenches with protestors rather than just talking on national television:

“He’s mistaken, he’s off the path with that. This is not about awareness campaigns anymore. Report to the front lines. If you can’t report to the front lines, then send aid,” White said, as per NBC Sports.

White went on to add that LeBron’s antics in the bubble in Orlando aren’t enough. He dared him to join his people in Ohio and protest side by side with them rather than just threatening to boycott the NBA season:

“Go to Akron Ohio. March with the people. Stay there until something really changes, and If they choose to be all the way violent, let your body be laying in the street when it’s over,” the forward concluded.

NBA players agreed to come back to play as long as they could continue to express their concerns about social issues in the United States. They’re trying to inspire change and make the most of their platform but for some it’ll never be enough.
