The Golden State Warriors were dealt a major blow when Klay Thompson injured his Achilles tendon and announced that he’d miss the whole 2020-21 season. That’s why a lot of people thought that they’d trade away their 2nd overall pick to try and land another star right away.

Nonetheless, the Dubs decided to hold on to that pick to get James Wiseman and instead traded for Kelly Oubre Jr. That, plus Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins, and Draymond Greenseemed enough to get back to the playoffs.

Now, however, some rumors claim that the Warriors wanted to trade for disgruntled star James Harden, who’s trying to force his way out of the Houston Rockets. Steph Curry, on the other hand, doesn’t want to give that idea much thought.

Stephen Curry Is Unfazed By The Rumors Of James Harden Joining The Warriors

“What was it, probably like two or three years ago, there was a rumor that LeBron [James] was gonna leave [the Cleveland Cavaliers] and come play for us. There’s all type of stuff that you hear, and that’s all part of the small world that is the NBA rumor circles and whatnot,” Steph said in an interview with 97.5 The Game.

“Some of the stuff you kind of laugh at. Some of the stuff is just a part of the business but until anything happens in this league, you kinda just brush it off. It’s part of the nature of the business,” he concluded.

At the end of the day, it’s unlikely that the Warriors are willing to meet the Rockets’ asking price for Harden. They already have a nice core and their title window will stay open for a couple of more years if Klay Thompson comes back at full strength.

As for Harden, the Houston Rockets are in no rush to trade him whatsoever as he’ll be under contract through the 2023 season, although he’s reportedly added the Philadelphia 76ers as another preferred destination just to get a deal done right away.
