LeBron James is widely recognized as one of the greatest NBA players of all time. He’s been a class act on and off the court but it seems like not even him can handle Russell Westbrook’s antics and trash-talking.
The Los Angeles Lakers jumped to an early lead in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals and had a 3-1 lead in the series, so there was not much room for mistakes or adjustments in the Houston Rockets’ end.
However, that didn’t stop Westbrook from talking his talk, curse people out, and move around as if it was his team the one in the lead. Hilariously, not even The King could handle it anymore and he ruthlessly mocked him.

Westbrook scored and claimed the Lakers better doubled him, which was even funnier considering they were down a lot of points with their season in the line and he wasn’t shooting the ball particularly well.
Russell is one of the most talented players and most gifted athletes on earth but it seems like his trash-talking isn’t always backed up on the court, especially considering how rusty he looked in the playoffs.
Houston Rockets: Uncertain Future
No one knows what’s going to happen next with the Houston Rockets. They made a huge bet by trading away several picks to pair Russell Westbrook with James Harden again but clearly it didn’t work out the way they expected.
Now, whether Daryl Morey and Mike D’Antoni will stay with the team remains to be seen. They were all-in in the small-ball and it paid off during the regular season but clearly lacked the personnel to make adjustments in the playoffs.
As for Westbrook and Harden, they continued to underperform when it matters the most and their legacy is being questioned now more than ever. Again, it feels like they’ll go down as players with great stats and no silverware to show for it.
