Deebo Samuel is no longer on the San Francisco 49ers roster, a move that surprised many. However, he holds no grudges against his former team, nor with Kyle Shanahan or John Lynch, who have known him for a long time.

According to a message Samuel posted on his personal X account, he said, “49ers know where I stand with them and it’s nothing but love.” He continued, mentioning his former head coach, “Love John and Kyle to death, no bad blood in any way, shape, or form.”

It appears, from Samuel’s message, that he left the 49ers completely satisfied with how he was treated: “They know I’m more than appreciative of everything they’ve done for me as a player and a man, nothing but love.”

For those who don’t know, Samuel will now play for the Commanders. Last season wasn’t his best with the 49ers, and that seems to be one of the reasons for his departure from the team he’s been with since 2019.

Deebo Samuel Left with Pockets Full

It’s worth noting that Samuel made a significant amount of money playing for the 49ers. Since joining the franchise in 2019, he earned a total of $64,203,237 from his contracts, averaging a bit over $10 million per year. This is a salary level that very few NFL receivers get to enjoy.

Deebo Samuel’s Versatility Could Transform the Commanders’ Offense

Samuel wrapped up his six-year tenure with the San Francisco 49ers, amassing 4,792 receiving yards and 189 first downs on 334 receptions. Known for his versatility, he also racked up 1,143 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground, making him one of the most dynamic offensive weapons in the league. His best season came in 2021 when he posted 1,405 receiving yards and added 365 rushing yards, earning him an All-Pro selection.

Now joining the Washington Commanders, Samuel brings a unique skill set that could elevate their offense immediately. His ability to create yards after the catch and line up in multiple positions makes him a perfect weapon for a team in need of explosive playmakers. If utilized effectively, he could help stretch defenses and take pressure off the Commanders’ young quarterback, providing a reliable target and a dangerous rushing option.
