Cam Newton was playing at an MVP level before testing positive for coronavirus, and clearly, Jarrett Stidham isn’t ready to play in the NFL and Brian Hoyer is far from a suitable replacement for Supercam.
To make things even worse, their stellar defense just got a major blow with Stephon Gilmore also testing positive for Covid-19, even if the Denver Broncos have also struggled mightily to move the chains.
Coach Vic Fangio will hope to have Drew Lock back under center for this game, as the sophomore quarterback was one of the main candidates to break out and take a step forward this season.
The Broncos’ defense continues to play at a high level despite the loss of Von Miller but they just can’t get anything going outside of Melvin Gordon’s rushes, but maybe they’ll finally catch a break if the Patriots make it to this game as undermanned as it looks like they’ll be.
