Aaron Rodgers doesn’t shy away from the responsibility that comes with playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. During an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, where fans were chanting for him to bring the seventh ring to the city, this was the quarterback’s response.

“Pittsburgh is one of the cornerstone franchises in the NFL. Everybody knows who they are. There’s only a few of them. It’s just different here. There’s a level of expectation based on the excellence that’s happened here. Everybody’s 0-0 right now. There’s 32 teams that feel like they can win a championship, but you guys know covering the game there’s only a handful of teams, I always say six to eight, but it’s really like 8 to 12.”

McAfee reminded Rodgers of the wave of criticism he received on social media for an insignificant interception against Patrick Queen during his first training camp pass at Latrobe. Pat asked him what he thinks about those who believe he has lost the touch that made him a four-time MVP with the Green Bay Packers. “I don’t give a ***t about that.”

Who calls plays for the Steelers?

Arthur Smith calls the plays for the Steelers as the team’s offensive coordinator. Because of this, Aaron Rodgers ended any controversy surrounding rumors that he would dictate the terms for building next season’s playbook.

“I’m getting more comfortable as the days go on. There’s not my own playbook and Arthur’s. It’s Arthur’s playbook. I’m finding ways within it to add little stuff here and there, but, it’s Arthur’s playbook and I like it. I like it a lot.”
