The Chicago Bears have endured nine consecutive weeks of losing in every imaginable way, but despite their most recent defeat at home, Caleb Williams managed to make franchise history with the team.
According to the stats, Williams officially became the first Bears quarterback to surpass 3,000 passing yards in his rookie season—an achievement no other rookie quarterback for the team has even come close to dreaming of. Following the Week 16 loss to the Lions, he exceeded the mark by an additional 271 yards.
Caleb Williams has made a habit of breaking records and setting new milestones for the Chicago Bears this season. Earlier, he achieved the longest no-interception streak by an NFL rookie, completing 100 consecutive passes without a turnover. That feat also established a new franchise record for the Bears.
While Williams will have to endure the Bears’ losing record at the conclusion of the regular season, he’s managed to throw 19 touchdown passes so far. His standout performance came in Week 6 during the Bears’ game against the Jaguars in London, where he recorded his highest single-game touchdown total.
Keenan Allen and DJ Moore: Reliable Targets for Williams
Keenan Allen has been Williams’ most dependable wide receiver throughout the 2024 season, contributing 7 touchdowns, 694 yards, and 62 receptions. Meanwhile, DJ Moore has also played a critical role, with 5 touchdowns and an impressive 826 yards on 83 receptions, cementing himself as one of Williams’ favorite targets.
Williams Leads the League in Sacks
One glaring issue for the Bears this season has been their inability to protect their rookie quarterback. As of Week 17, Williams leads the NFL as the most sacked quarterback, having been taken down 60 times by opposing defenses. For comparison, the next closest on the list is C.J. Stroud, with 47 sacks.
