The Detroit Lions have lost several key figures this offseason following a great 2024 campaign. Now, Dan Campbell has sent a blunt message to Jared Goff regarding their ongoing rebuild for the 2025 season.

There is no doubt that the Lions have built a very competitive team in recent years. Dan Campbell has not only added several stars since his arrival, but he has also created a strong staff around him to make the club a solid contender.

Unfortunately, every success comes at a cost. The Lions have lost several key contributors over the years, many of whom have been hired by other teams trying to replicate what Campbell has built in Detroit.

Dan Campbell makes something clear to Jared Goff on Lions’ ongoing rebuild

In 2021, Dan Campbell was named the head coach of the Detroit Lions. There were many doubts surrounding the decision, but it has undoubtedly proven to be the right move by the NFC North club.

Campbell has built not only a strong roster but also a very solid coaching staff over the years. Unfortunately, his assistants have had such remarkable success that several have left to take bigger jobs in recent seasons.

Just this offseason, the Lions lost offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, who became head coaches for the Bears and Jets, respectively. While these departures could have a major impact, Campbell remains confident the team will continue to thrive.

The head coach addressed the recent changes they’ve faced on both sides of the ball. Nevertheless, Campbell has sent a blunt message to Jared Goff and the rest of the players to stay calm and focused despite working with new coordinators in 2025.

“We’ll be fine. We’ll be fine,” Campbell said. “Everybody knows how I feel bout these coaches that have been here and been part of this. I’m happy for them. They’re moving on and I wish them the best.

Who will be the Lions’ offensive and defensive coordinators in 2025?

Once the 2024 NFL season ended for the Lions, many fans knew they would lose some key pieces. Johnson and Glenn were top targets for multiple teams, but it was the Bears and Jets who ultimately hired them.

John Morton will be the team’s new offensive coordinator after serving as the Broncos’ pass game coordinator for the past two seasons. On the defensive side, Campbell promoted linebackers coach Kelvin Sheppard to replace Glenn.
