The thirst for revenge is in the air surrounding Ford Field. The Detroit Lions were major contenders last NFL season, although a tough loss to the Commanders dashed their Super Bowl hopes. Looking ahead, both Dan Campbell and Jared Goff aim to validate their achievements and, even more, go further than before.

The NFC North will be much more competitive than last season, as not only the Vikings and Packers will be lurking around Detroit, but now the Chicago Bears also join the fray, one of the teams that have strengthened the most and the best during this free agency.

With the main goal of building the most competitive roster possible, the Lions have guaranteed their head coach a key player on defense, who will remain with the franchise for at least one more year.

Lions’ main goal

Dan Campbell’s Lions were major contenders last season, to the point where many considered them strong Super Bowl candidates. Unfortunately for them, a tough home loss to Washington dashed all those hopes.

That’s why the goal is clear for the upcoming NFL season: to maintain the high expectations and once again be among those who can contend. A solid offseason, along with the upcoming draft, presents a great opportunity to significantly strengthen the roster.
