Kirby Smart knows the Philadelphia Eagles added another top Georgia player in the 2025 Draft—something that’s no surprise—but it recently led the college coach to send a strong message congratulating one of his former stars.

“Congrats Smael Mondon Jr! So happy for you in this moment. You’re going to make another great Dawg for LBU. Can’t wait to see what you do with the Eagles. All of Dawg Nation is behind you and we are so proud of you. GO DAWGS!!” Smart posted on X after Mondon was selected in the fifth round.

This isn’t the first time an Eagles pick has come out of the Bulldogs program. It’s also not the first time Smart has congratulated one of his players for making it to the NFL—he did the same for Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins after he was drafted by the Vikings.

How many Georgia players are on the Eagles now?

With Smael Mondon now on board, the Eagles will have six former Georgia players on their roster. Five were already with the team last season: Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean, Kelee Ringo, and Nolan Smith. This gives the Eagles the largest group of players from a single college program on their 2025 roster.

There are still Georgia players waiting for their shot, including Nazir Stackhouse, one of the top-ranked tackles from Smart’s program, who remains available.
