Russell Wilson is the new quarterback of the New York Giants, but during a special appearance on 7PM in Brooklyn, the veteran spoke about his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, which only lasted one season.
“Pittsburgh was a good place for me. It really helped rejuvenate me in every way just because of the locker room there. It was just cool to be around that. The experience of the history of Pittsburgh.”

Despite Mike Tomlin choosing not to extend Russell Wilson’s contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the quarterback spoke highly of his former head coach and admitted that he is one of the best in the NFL.
“Obviously Coach Tomlin too as well, who he is as a man. A guy from Virginia who’s been successful. It was really unique to be around his mentality. I think there’s three things about Mike Tomlin that’s special. His obsession, his work ethic. The second thing is his ability to connect to players. It’s remarkable. The thing that’s really unique about him is the ability to embrace the noise. The ability to embrace the obstacles and all that. He stares it right in the face and he doesn’t run from it. He’s one of the all-time great coaches. A guy that’s going to be in the Hall of Fame because of what he’s been able to do.”
