Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen will miss the first La Liga El Clasicoderby against Real Madrid on Saturday, October 24, 2020. The Catalan giants’ fans had hoped that the German national team would recover for the firstEl Clasico of the season.

However, it is just now that Barca coach Ronald Koeman hasadmitted that it’s highly unlikely. As per Marca, the Germany No.1is expected to remain on the sidelinesuntil the end of November.

“Since last Tuesday Ter Stegen has been working on the pitch and everything is going well for the moment.I don’t think he will make it to the Clasico It’s too early and we don’t have to set a date.We will see when he is readybecause he is a great goalkeeper”, Koeman said at a press conference.

Ter Stegen won 2019-20 Aldo Rovira Award

Ter Stegen underwent knee surgery in August and isyet to make an appearance in the new 2020-21 La Liga season. Once he returns onthe pitch, the goalkeeper will receive the AldoRovira Award for the best Barcaplayer for the previous campaign.
