The USC Trojans, as expected, are the No. 1 team entering the Big Dance. JuJu Watkins and company have been excellent this season, and they deserved to get the nod.
Anything can happen in a win-or-go-home situation. That’s why Watkins will have to do plenty of heavy lifting to make sure her team stays alive in their pursuit of a championship.
Notably, she will square off vs. some elite competition. That’s why, when asked about whether she wanted another meeting with Paige Bueckers and UConn, she didn’t run from the smoke.

“That’s really cool,” Watkins said. “We love competition. We got to match earlier in the season, so it’ll be an even better matchup this time. We’re better. They’re better. So, yeah, it’ll just be a great game.”

Watkins and USC took down the then-No. 1 UConn 72-7 earlier in the season. It was the first time the Trojans took down the Huskies in player history, and it was partly thanks to Watkins’ 25 points. Bueckers had 22 for Geno Auriemma’s team.
