The Florida Gators took care of business down the stretch to end Auburn’s season. That outstanding performance put one of the best players in college basketball in the eye of the storm.

Of course, that means that all eyes are now set on Walter Clayton Jr., as the veteran point guard put on an absolute show with his unlimited range and shot-making skills in the Final Four game.

With that in mind, former college star Jay Williams compared him to the likes of Damian Lillard and Stephen Curry, and he even claimed that he could climb his way to the top three of the 2025 NBA Draft.

“I could make a case that he could be the second or third pick in the NBA draft. I know Dylan Harper, I know Ace Bailey, they have a ton of talent,” Williams said on ESPN’s ‘Get Up.’ “But the run this guy is on, the shots he makes, combined Dame Lillard with Steph Curry. I’m not saying he’s gonna reach the pinnacle of who those players are, but his game, to me, is akin to a marriage between the two. He is prolific offensively; I don’t know if I’ve seen a hotter player than Walter Clayton Jr is now.”

Of course, those are some very big shoes to fill. Moreover, given his age, it’s hard to believe he’s going to leapfrog past Bailey or Harper, as he’s already 22 years old.

Then again, he could make a big impact regardless of where he’s taken, and his performance in the championship game and the combine could certainly boost his draft stock.
