Jon Scheyer is about to enter his fourth season in charge of the Duke Blue Devils. And while the roster is far from complete, it’s hard to argue that they won’t be a top-ten team next season.
As a matter of fact, renowned analyst Jon Rothstein currently has them as the No. 8 team in the nation, even after losing a myriad of players to the 2025 NBA Draft, including Cooper Flagg.
With that in mind, the analyst also tried to predict Jon Scheyer’s starting lineup for the upcoming campaign, according to a report by Matt Giles of Sports Illustrated.
Duke’s starting five looks stacked
“Rothstein projects the following Duke basketball starting five: rising junior guard Caleb Foster, sophomore guard Isaiah Evans, redshirt junior forward Cedric Coward (transfer from Washington State), freshman forward Cameron Boozer, and sophomore center Patrick Ngongba II,” read the report.

Nevertheless, Evans and Coward were invited to the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago next week, so they might not even be back in Durham for the upcoming campaign.
At the end of the day, anything can change from today until the start of the season, and nothing is set in stone. For now, however, this team looks like an absolute juggernaut.
